Codd-Neck Bottles were invented by Hiram Codd in 1872 for the purpose of bottling carbonated drinks. These bottles enclose a marble and rubber gasket and were filled upside down. I picked up one of these bottles at a local sea glass festival during the summer and started shooting abstract details. I became intrigued with the imperfections and patina and started collecting the bottles from Europe. There are 16 of these details in my online gallery. I combined details #11, #15, #14 (pictured left to right) in a triptych which was selected to be included in the Biggs Museum’s Juried Bigg Shots 2018. The show runs through January 27th, 2019 in Dover, DE.
