I’m excited to announce that I’ll be having a show at the Colourworks Gallery from December 7th through the end of February. The gallery, also known as the Colourworks Photo/Art Space, will be exhibiting my solo show titled “Mindful Focus.”
Here is my artist statement for the exhibit:
Art has played a transformative role in healing, exploring what is close and accessible, while helping quiet pain and frustration. In addition, practicing mindfulness has enabled focusing through the fog, satisfaction of observation, and led to new critical awareness. Through this, my images have become increasingly complex, using advanced computational techniques to study objects often unnoticed. While many are clearly abstract, all share an intense focus, minimization, and search for unique elements. Knowing the subject is less important than creating a spark of inquisitiveness, I hope these images help trigger curiosity, critical thought, and creativity.
Opening night will be December 7th, 2018 from 5:30 pm to 8:30 pm and will be part of the December Art Loop Friday in Wilmington, DE. (http://artloopwilmington.org).
