Pain became my profession over the last 5 years, impacting every aspect of my life as I sought answers and clawed my way back. It was a major reason that I found my way back to photography. As most of my friends and colleagues know, I have a highly analytic and creative mind. Pain would cancel out my ability to think, process, write, and work. This was uniquely cruel and unbelievably frustrating. Photography played an important role in my healing as it gave me an escape, often brief, to view and study the world around me. It started with iPhone pictures and evolved into highly complex images created with techniques often used by scientific photographers. Thankfully, I am feeling better, doing more, working again, and still creating images. I shared this story with a site dedicated to the healing power of art and they selected it to share with their community. Please visit The Healing Power of Art and Artists.
